The old me would have wanted to go home and dwell on comparing my art to what I had seen and consider giving up because it just doesn't measure up. That is certainly not the effect these day trips have had on me!
I'm in awe of so much of the art in just a handful of galleries visited. I came from each one inspired to keep painting and keep working. I know the details of my paintings don't come close to measuring up to what I've seen....but it does not make me want to give up. It makes me want to keep improving and keep working toward the dream that one day that can be MY art hanging on those walls, inspiring others.
No, I don't have the formal art training many artists have had. No, I don't have the ability to spend all day creating as full time artists can. No, I don't have the financial resources to purchase the necessary supplies needed for some projects. What I DO have is the heart to keep at it, the desire to continue producing the images I see in my head, the will to keep working hard whenever I can and the knowledge that YES I am getting better and I will continue getting better.
I looking forward to continuing finding galleries and spending time appreciating the art of others and yes, being inspired by them.
I am so very thankful for those who already love my art as it is...and I look forward to wowing them with improvements as times marches on.
Just keep watching and know that what you see is not all there is.
